  • Concert for a Cause : Thanks to a great day : raising £850 for Cancer Research UK

Concert for a Cause is a roaring success as over £850 is raised in racketball tournament and evening of live music with Dubwiser.

I’d like to thank Simon at Racquets for hosting the event, everyone who played in the racketball tournament, all the lovely people who came in the evening to support and, of course Eddy Smythe and Dubwiser for their fantastic live music which got everyone on the dance floor.

The racket-ball was organised brilliantly by Beth John and Katie Phillips who directed the eager players onto court and filled in the results as they came in. The day ran like clockwork thanks to their ability to herd cats.

Well done to everyone who joined in.

There were some great games for all standards with a singles and doubles tournament. Hats off to Stuart Green who was unbeaten in a strong field in the singles tournament to take the Cancer Research title.

Congratulations to Ben Hedger and Jem Lovell who beat John Avery and Ben Phillips in a very close final to lift the Cancer Research doubles title.

I’d like to again thank everyone who participated and donated in this event it was a great day for a great cause.

The evening saw Dubwiser light up the stage and put on a great night of music and dancing. Yet again I was overwhelmed with peoples’ generosity and it was a brilliant way to round off the day.

Thank you again to everyone who came, supported, donated, played and danced the night away. You all helped me and Cancer Research raise £856.99.
